Two Major Sonar Regattas Now Open
The Sonar Class’s two major regattas now have their Notices of Races posted and registrations are open: The North American Championship and the Mid-Winter Championship. Here are links in chronological order:
Sonar 2027 Mid-Winter Championship
This year’s Mid-Winter Championship will be sailed as part of the 2027 Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series – St Petersburg.
February 12 – 14, 2027
Make plans now and spend Valentine’s weekend in beautiful, warm St. Petersburg, FL. Bring your own boat or contact Class Contact Paul Perry (PaulPerry3@gmail.com) about the possibility of chartering a boat from St. Pete YC.
Last year’s Mid-Winters was a huge success so make plans now to get your boat to St. Petersburg in time to be part of this regatta.
2027 Sonar North American Championship
June 10 – 13, 2027
Sunapee Yacht Club, Lake Sunapee, NH
Lake Sunapee Yacht Club will be welcoming back the International Sonar Class next June for the 2027 Sonar Class North American Championship. LSYC ran the 2023 North Americans and proved again that Lake Sunapee is a spectacular venue to race Sonars. Great winds and exceptional scenery. Entry is open on YachtScoring.com, and the $750 entry fee increases to $850 on January 1. Register early to save $100 and help the Championship organizers plan more accurately.
